Method One: Cost Estimate (e.g., BEES) - TMC Furnished/Department Furnished Material D3 Projects

1.  For TMC Furnished Items, use the bid item “066888 ELECTRICAL MATERIAL” under DFM expenses.

2.  Add the explanation to DFM justification memo, and prepare a PIF.

3.  Remove the ‘TMC furnished’ from plans, and use ‘Department furnished’.

Get the TMC person contact details and location address where the contractor has to collect the items(camera, MRS).

Method Two: Cost Estimate (e.g., BEES) - TMC Furnished/Department Furnished Material D3 Projects

1. Contact TMC Staff and work out the logistics to relocate (i.e., RL) equipment from a cabinet onto the structure. This method is only for small electrical scope of work projects and you will need to confirm with TMC that the equipment and materials are available to reserve for your project.

2. We can do this for CCTVs, MRS-F, MRS-A, and MRS-S devices

3. CAT8 Cables and MRS Cables must be supplied by the project and the project must install the TMC furnished material and equipment

DES or Office of Design and Technical Services (formerly known as DES) Request Types

Electrical Design PE Responsibilities

1. Verify cost of new and modified work

2. Verify the CRZ requirement of all highway assets within project scope

   1. CRZ from Highway Design Manual Link

3. Send the pole locations (LAT, LNG) and any trenching information to Erin Damm (Associate Environmental Planner) or equal to clear environmental

4. Design the Electrical Under Ground Assets and Cabinets

5. Submit a DES request with sample SES-Sheets to request a project specific SES.

6. Define the SOW (Scope Of Work) document

7. Backup all files in the proper folder in the P-drive Project Status and Reference file

8. Utility One-line Diagrams

   1. Submit for Utility Application using the One-Line Diagrams

Construction and Local Request Forms (LRF)

These templates are for a single Ramp Meter (RMS) and a single Traffic Monitoring Station (TMS). Please multiply each quantity by the number of RMS and TMS cabinets in your project. For existing RMS and TMS in existing cabinet, we will only need the electronic equipment (controller, detector cards, GPS module, etc.)
